MSCI appoints Chief Diversity Officer

Tia Counts will fill the new international position based in London, and is responsible for aligning MSCI’s diversity, equality and inclusion goals

US finance company, MSCI has made a senior D&I appointment in their London office; Tia Counts will fill the new international position and is responsible for aligning MSCI’s diversity, equality and inclusion goals.

This is a newly created role for the index creator and provider of other investment tools and services; based in London, Counts will be responsible for aligning MSCI’s diversity, equality and inclusion goals with business outcomes.

She has significant legal experience in magic circle firms in New York and London and led international transactions across Latin America, the US, and Europe.

As an attorney, she previously served as Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion for JP Morgan’s asset and wealth management business and its global corporate and investment bank. There, she launched and led “Advancing Black Pathways for JP Morgan’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank across all lines of business in EMEA.”

During this time, Counts “implemented an effective diversity strategy building on her strength as a skilled manager with proven success in recruiting, training, retaining and advancing top talent.”
