HireVue wins “DE&I Solution of the Year”

TIARA Talent Tech Star Awards crowns HireVue

HireVue, the global leader in video interviewing, assessment and SMS recruitment tools, has announced that it has won the ‘DE&I Solution of the Year’ award at the TIARA Talent Tech Star Awards

HireVue won the award after judges praised the recruitment platform for its impact on diverse and inclusive recruitment at scale. It achieves this by taking a multi-pronged approach to reducing bias and ensuring an excellent experience for clients and candidates.

Over 800 organisations benefit from HireVue’s investment in DE&I, with over 30 million video interviews, six million assessments and 46 million SMS and WhatsApp messages completed on the platform to date.

Diverse hiring pool

In terms of actions to create a powerful solution, in 2019, HireVue partnered with Autism Employment Advisors to design a more inclusive platform. This allows those using HireVue to benefit from a hiring experience created with a diverse hiring pool.

One of HireVue’s core principles is that diversity and inclusion start with dismantling bias in the hiring process, end-to-end, one step at a time. They believe this is one of the most powerful ways to create economic opportunities leading to a more equitable and just society. It allows companies using HireVue to recruit the best talent for the job, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation and age.

At the same time, the company has also invested in technology. HireVue’s text-powered conversational AI, video interviewing, assessment and automated chatbot tools make it easier to interview candidates wherever they are in the world. They can interact with various candidates from diverse backgrounds by offering video interviews in over 30 languages.

Darren Jaffrey, managing director of APAC and EMEA at HireVue, added: “Improving diversity and inclusion in hiring is a strategic imperative for businesses, and it’s great to see that our team’s dedication to helping companies hire a diverse and equitable workforce is being recognised by the TIARA Talent Tech Star Awards this year.”

Jaffrey continued, “Customers who use HireVue can help their companies hire more equitably while filling critical open positions with the best talent in a timely manner.”

Richard Matthews, Head of Talent and Recruitment at The Co-operative Bank, who has used the service, is pleased: “As the first customer-led ethical bank, it is essential for us to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.

“HireVue has enabled us to interview and assess as many candidates as possible in a fair, consistent and open manner, streamline and speed up our process, and deliver a first-class experience.

Matthews added: “We are proud to have a 50/50 hiring rate at all levels of our business. Our executive committee is almost 50/50, we’ve just appointed our first female CTO this year, and we’ve significantly reduced the bias in our hiring process.”
