“I have been fortunate enough to find people believing in me and helping me grow in my career,” says Barbara Gottardi, the CEO of Wedlvr Ltd, an independent consultancy specialising in helping companies through complex digital transformation programmes.
Barbara is excited about paying that empathy forward at the Women in IT Summit UK 2023 on 18 May.
What inspired you to join the Women in IT Summit UK?
I have been a supporter of Women in IT for years and was lucky enough to work with them through my time at HSBC. I think it’s a very well-run event with very relevant topics and inspirational speakers.
You are participating in the Great Resignations to Great Reinventions: Keeping Women and Underrepresented Groups Alive in Tech’s Future Equation panel. What will you be talking about?
We always talk about diversity as a percentage of women and men in the workforce – I strongly believe it is way more than that. Women don’t want to be seen as numbers improving statistics. I have been super fortunate to work with people across the globe and learn from very different cultures. I have experienced first-hand how much more productive (and happy) a really diverse team is.
What do you hope delegates will leave with on the day as a consequence of attending?
With a strong belief that they can all make a difference and that we need to help change the narrative.
Why should someone attend the Summit this year?
Because it is a great opportunity to network and meet very interesting people. Do not underestimate the power of networking – that’s the best way to drive change and support each other.
